Knowing is loving
“So many believe that it is love that grows, but it is the knowing that grows and love simply expands to contain it. Love is just the skin of knowing.”— The Shack, page 156
Interesting in juxtaposition to the last quotation you posted. If love is the skin of knowing, and we cannot truly know God, can we love him at all? Do people who only perceive God to be "the best version of themselves" love only themselves with the love that they think they are giving to God? Hm.

ReplyDeleteInteresting idea; hadn't thought of it that way, but it does make sense. I'll have to give that a bit of thought.

What makes you say you can't know God?
