<idle musing>
Is this really history? Or is this drawing conclusions that fit preconceptions about what Christianity is supposed to look like? Sometimes historians walk a fine line—the facts can be interpreted several different ways. I fear that happened in this case...what do you think?

Is this history?
In contrast, early Christianity was attractive to the laity because it offered a model of Christian virtue that improved their quality of life by urging attractive family norms, a tangible love of neighbors, and feasible levels of sacrifice, along with a clear message of salvation.
