God intended to communicate something to us in the Bible, and our responsibility is to interpret it correctly. This conviction is often expressed in terms of an analogy. For example, Brian Edwards states that the Bible is a “treasure box.” In order to get to the treasure within, a key must be used by Christians to unlock it.—

Yet the treasure is so clear and obvious that if it is 'hidden' it is hidden in plain sight. Surely it is not the treasure that is hidden, just the details of the wrapping paper that are somewhat blurred?
