Doing good things doesn’t make you a Christian. You can volunteer regularly at the soup kitchen, go to church every Sunday, and be a “good person” yet not be any more of a Christian than the guy who gets drunk every weekend and calls himself an atheist. Christianity without the cross is mere moralism: living according to a religious moral code all the while never embracing faith in Jesus. Stern, Aaron (2011-07-01). What's Your Secret?: Freedom through Confession (pp. 101-102). David C. Cook. Kindle Edition.
