Idle musings by a once again bookseller, always bibliophile, current copyeditor and proofreader. Complete with ramblings about biblical studies, the ancient Near East, bicycling, gardening, or anything else I am reading (or experiencing). All more or less live from Red Wing, MN

Join the gathering
Jesus is inviting his followers to be players in the eschatological unfolding of the Father’s plan. He promises that after his departure, he will be in their midst when they gather. Heaven will be present on earth, and the ecclesia on earth will make its presence felt in heaven. This community of empowered believers, through participation in the LP [Lord's Prayer], straddles heaven and earth. They mediate the tension, praying and working toward the final reconciliation of these two realms.—David A. Clark, The Lord’s Prayer: Origin and Early Interpretations (PhD diss, University of Nottingham, 2014), page 128
