Sports and Eisenbrauns?

I just received an e-mail linking to this article. The lead-in line of the e-mail said:

No matter what your core business, sports can be infused into your marketing plan effectively. Here's how you can ensure that same passion and enthusiasm of sports fans can be transferred to your business.

OK, your task is to figure out how in the world that would work for Eisenbrauns. Name one sports celebrity that would have a clue what we do...

Time's up! Yep, me too. A big zero!

<idle musing>
Second task: does that say more about our culture or about Eisenbrauns? :)

I keep telling you, we need to put together an Eisenbrauns relay team for the Winona Lake Triathlon. Pam can swim, you can ride, and maybe we could get Erdman to do the running...

Surely plenty of sports personalities (but not the really rich ones) would suddenly know all about what Eisenbrauns do as soon as what you do is pay them lots of money to endorse your products. More to the point, do you really want to sell your products to people who only buy them because they are told to by some sports personality who hasn't actually read the books?

I like the Triathlon idea.

Andy, Sure, but who pays the entry fee?

Peter, Sadly, your analysis is probably correct.

Renee, Want to join us? I can see the headlines: "Eight Month Pregnant Mom Runs/Bikes/Swims (take your pick) in Local Triathon. Gives Birth to Healthy Girl on Finish Line" :)
