Thank you so much for posting this. I know all of the information you list, but I've never been able to find all this information in one place.
Porn is the fruit of something much deeper. In Romans 1:18-32 we're told about societies who reject God. But there is something we miss. Break relationship with God, and what is the next relationship which breaks down? What is the first human relationship God creates after creating man? The first human relationship which breaks is the one between husband and wife. Break relationship with God, and break marriage. What is the next relationship to break? Break relationship with God, break the marriage, and then break the parent child relationship. Break relationship with God, break marriage, break the family, and society begins the long horrid road to destruction.
How does porn fit into all that? Simple people who take refuge in porn do so because for them relationship is hurtful. Porn feeds their fantasies. In their fantasies people can populate their lives with imaginary people who always adore them, think they are the best sex partner, best looking...etc., ad nausea.
It is so tragic and heartbreaking that so many people feel the need to create a false family for themselves because the families and culture they've been born into is too harsh and dangerous to pour themselves into real relationships.
Relationship with God is all the hope there is. Jesus restores our relationship with God. God begins to create family again, and through the families God grows in our lives, the culture is effected for good.
