Chrysostom's theodicy
Chrysostom consistently argues that the gospel of Christ has effectively sucked the poison out of the Christian's suffering. The realities God has introduced into the world through Christ have conquered harm as a continuing, unjust, unrighteous reality, a permanent source of lasting damage to the Christian.
