More Augustine and creation

Creation for Augustine is also ad extra; that is, God creates the world not from his own nature but as something distinct from himself. (This is a view that is increasingly challenged by some contemporary theologians who have adopted “panentheism.”) God is immanent in creation in the sense that it reflects his nature.
